Winter Carnival is now Community Ski Free Days

Due to the overwhelming turnout the last couple years, we've made some changes in the 2017 Winter Carnival format to provide the best experience for everyone. This year we've spread the fun over three "community ski free" days throughout the winter. We hope that this means fewer lines and more fun for everyone.

  • Sunday, December 18: Learn to Ski. Free day passes, free rentals, and free lessons available to all. If you've never skied, this is a great way to get started.
  • Saturday, January 28: Winter Fun Day. Free day pass, snow sculptures, snowball toss, sledding, and more.
  • Sunday, February 19: Ski, Snowshoe AND Bike. Free day pass, guided snowshoe tours, and fat bike demos.

Community Ski Free days are hosted by Waterville Parks & Recreation in collaboration with Friends of Quarry Road, Central Maine Ski Club, and Central Maine NEMBA, and Kennebec Messalonskee Trails.

Many local businesses and organizations provide sponsorship support and dozens of volunteers for this community event.  Thanks especially to our 2017 season sponsors: Central Maine Motors, Inland Hospital, Kennebec Federal Savings, MaineGeneral Health, Wallace Events, Fortin's Home Furnishings, Marden's Surplus & Salvage, and Sappi North America.
