Biking

Bicyclists of all levels can find fun on two wheels at Quarry Road, close to Waterville and Augusta. A 4’ gravel path following the River Loop trails offers rolling hills and opportunity for an invigorating aerobic workout or a leisurely ride enjoying the views of the stream for more casual cyclists. The biking trails at Quarry Road connect with miles of local mountain bike trails to challenge all levels of mountain bike enthusiasts.

The Central Maine chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association (CeMeNEMBA) works with Waterville Parks & Recreation, Friends of Quarry Road, and other community partners to build bike trails, hold cycling events and provide opportunities to encourage mountain biking as a way to have fun being active for a lifetime.

A gravel path around the meadow provides a walking and biking path for active families, beginning cyclists, and those with limited mobility.

A pump track near the yurt provides a fun and challenging venue for improving your mountain bike skills in a controlled environment.

The meadows and trails at Quarry Road are well laid out for cyclocross, and have served as the venue for Central Maine Cycling Club cyclocross races.
