Disc Golf

UPDATE 8-28-26: Recently Redesigned! The new changes are nearly complete, but we're still working on getting them finalized. There is no signage at the moment, but we are working on getting it installed soon. The layouts have been updated on UDisc to reflect the new changes, so it can be navigated using the app for now, but we are working on adding signage so it can be navigated more intuitively.

The course is playable from around May when the snow melts, until early November when snowmaking operations begin. This is one of very few free to play courses in Maine!

The new redesign is focused on the holes in the meadow areas and making them easier to follow and more accessible for beginners while still maintaining challenge for advanced players. For the near term, the holes in the woods along the North Koons trail are not in use. We hope to be able to bring those back into play in summer of 2027 or 2028 when we can give those holes proper infrastructure and maintenance. As a result, we are working to ensure that a shorter 12 hole layout can be very good, and maintaining it to stay that way, before trying to expand back into the woods for a full 18-21 hole layout.

Lots of work has gone into the redesign. Some turf tees remain, but 8 brand new concrete tees have been poured, and the goal is replace the existing turf tees with concrete over time. While some holes remain unchanged, there are quite a few tweaks and some entirely new holes in the redesign. Ongoing maintenance will be prioritized moving forward as that has been a deficiency in the past.

About Disc Golf

For those unfamiliar with disc golf it uses the same rules as golf but is played with plastic discs instead of a ball and clubs and uses a basket with chains as the target instead of a hole. The object of the game is to complete each hole on the course by throwing a plastic disc into the basket in the fewest number of throws possible.
