Learn-to-Ski Day has been rescheduled to Sunday, December 12, due to rain in the forecast for Saturday.
Local residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a day of cross-country skiing and other winter activities at Quarry Road Trails in Waterville on Saturday, December 11. This free community event, hosted by Waterville Parks & Rec, is the first of three Community Ski Free Days scheduled for the 2021-2022 winter season.
The Quarry Road Welcome Center will be open to provide free snowshoes to loan, ski equipment demos (first-come, first-served), free learn-to-ski clinics, snacks, and information.
Due to high demand and limited equipment, please arrive early if you plan on participating in the learn-to-ski clinic.
Morning Session
10:00-11:00 fitting for free equipment rentals
11:00-12: 00 free learn-to-ski clinic
12:30 return ski equipment
Afternoon Session
1:00-2:00 fitting for free equipment rentals
2:00-3:00 free learn-to-ski clinic
3:30 return ski equipment
These free community events and the Quarry Road Trails are supported through ski pass sales, donations, collaboration with partnering organizations, and contributions from annual sponsors.
Quarry Road Trails is located at 300 Quarry Road in Waterville. Ski and snowshoe trails are open all day throughout the season with lighting on over a mile of trail for night skiing until 9 p.m. Quarry Road Trails’ state-of-the-art snowmaking system ensures that the ski trails are covered even in periods of low natural snowfall.
